Tyreke Evans

Over the past few years, the words "basketball" and "Sacramento" in the same sentence caused shudders and groans. A once-exciting team fell hard on their butts and were shut out of any meaningful position in the Western Conference. Their star, Kevin Martin, received little attention because of their low marketability and the biggest news coming out of Sac Town was musings about the team's owners, the Maloof brothers. But that all changed when the Kings drafted Tyreke Evans with the #4 pick in the 2009 NBA entry draft. The prodigy from the University of Memphis has made an immediate impact on the Kings, with his 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. I watched him play against the Lakers the other night and he was just wrecking their D (check play #3). This guy is a force, and will more likely than not win Rookie of the Year. He plays with the physical toughness and poise of a veteran and has received praise from all types of media outlets for his aggressive style of play. This guy, along with Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose and a handful of others, is the future of basketball. Check the video below to see some of his best moves from the season thus far.
