Tonight is Oscar night. I'll probably watch a bit of the show, but for whatever reason, I don't really like to watch movies. I think my short attention span has something to do with it. So no, I have not seen Avatar but this is still a telling video. What do you think? Did James Cameron copy Pocahontas or is this just some good editing?

I have seen Avatar, and immediately after the movie finished I said.."It was really good but, the story was exactly like Pocahontas".
ReplyDeleteSo, personally I do think the story line was copied. Avatar was like an 'upgrade' of the graphics part of Pocahontas. It was a cool movie because of the 3D and beautiful graphics but the story line was so simple. -Coop
Coop,
ReplyDeleteon one hand I hope you're wrong, just because it would make all these accomplishments so trivial. But at the same time, I hope you're right because that would set a good standard for future films that no matter how gorgeous they may be, if there isn't a good original story, then what are we watching? Hence "The Hurt Locker" winning Best Picture and Best Director at last night's Oscars.
