Making the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can

No, I'm not talking about Jay-Z, I'm taking about Japanese clothing vendor Onspotz. For anyone who has ever worn a New Era 59Fifty baseball cap, rule #1 is keep it as dry as possible. The stench of soaked wool is hard to bear and inevitably causes the wearer to stuff the hat in their pocket so as not to attract sideways glances. But aaaaanyways, Onspotz has developed a new material that will allow for waterproof fitteds. This is great news for any Seattle Mariners fans (I'm sure there are some...) and anyone else who may frequently find themselves caught in the rain. Finally something sensible with a Yankees logo on it...

Speaking of New York...

Wow, it seems like one thing just keeps leading to the other. Today at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, the sixth annual Red Bull BC One competition starts. The Red Bull BC One a one-day competition of the 16 best breakdancers in the world. Last year went to Wing from South Korea after he took down Taisuke of Japan. Watch the final round from last year below (the action starts at 1:20 so I suggest skipping to there):

And on the topic of music...

50 Cent, who do you think you are?!?!?
Yesterday, Fiddy once again proclaimed himself the "King of New York" and ripped Jay-Z, saying that around the world he's just "Beyoncé's husband". Curtis, let me tell you something. Jay-Z has 11 number one albums. Count 'em, 11. At last count, you had 2 and your last album peaked at #2 on the Billboard Top 200. Yes yes, we know you just released an album (Before I Self-Destruct) this past Tuesday so we'll see how you do.
But so far 50, it's not looking so good; according to XXL magazine, Before I Self Destruct is projected to sell between 150,000 and 160,000 copies in the first week. How did Jay's latest do? In the first week, the Blueprint 3 sold about 476,000.
And even if numbers aren't your thing, let's get real. Jay-Z has better music and commands more respect in the industry (regardless of what the Game has to say). And, something we look for on this blog, Jay's got dope style and your outfit of choice is a doo-rag and a bullet-proof vest.
