This video was supposed to drop at midnight last night on MTV.com, and it did, just not here in Canada, despite Drake being from Toronto. Needless to say, Twitter was ablaze with comments and questions from fans trying to catch a glimpse of what their Americans friends were enjoying. Luckily, at around 12:45, Oliver from Drake's clique came through with a Vimeo link so anyone could watch.

As for the video itself, I really like it. It was shot in Kingston, Jamaica a little while ago and I really feel as though director Anthony Mandler mightily stepped up on this one. Watch your backs for the badmans.

"Stop The Violence" Bone Sculptures

Photographer François Robert neatly arranged lots of human bones to create a bizarre - and bizarrely cool - set of war-inspired pictures.

"I always have been fascinated with skulls (In my home town in Switzerland, my parents and I were living above a Natural Museum). As I mentioned, I photographed over 140 skulls of animals from the Field Museum in Chicago, and it become a traveling exhibition across the U.S. for 8 years (sponsored by the Museum). In the mid-90’s, during an auction from an old school, I purchased 3 metal lockers and to my surprise one of them held a real, full size articulated skeleton. For years I had it displayed in one of the rooms in my studio and I often wondered what else I could do with it. Finally the idea came to me to explore the idea of disassembling the skeleton and rearranging the bones, and from that process came the series “Stop the Violence”.

One of my homeys out of Maryland posted a video by a band called Dunc and Toine Makin' Dollars on his Facebook wall the other day but unfortunately, I found too many other things to keep me occupied and I actually didn't watch it until I went over to my buddy Jordan's place and he was listening to their EP. So I downloaded their EP as well and I was very impressed.

The group is made up of two guys: the producer, Dunc, and the emcee, Antoine (who is also one-third of Life Connoisseurs) and their sound, although not exactly unique, is exactly the kind of hip-hop I'm into right now. And I gotta give my props to Toine because his lyrics are pretty damn solid.

Following in the footsteps of the extremely popular British street artist Banksy, some young anti-war artists in Afghanistan have taken the stencils to the streets of Kabul to get their message out. They call themselves the Talibanksy and offered the following statement:

Selling the peace’ AKA (also known as) winning the war, has also become a big industry. Propaganda is everywhere from counter-narcotic campaigns to counter-terrorism to army recruitment. You can’t move without some form of visual purposeful persuasion burning a hole in your soul. Social and politically driven graphics, AKA street art, can evoke thought and stimulate discussion. Last week I mentioned that some things would be changing, and literally the day after I wrote the post it all started to happen. But for the sake of not wanting to look like a tool, I waited a bit and here we are a week later, and with some experience under my belt, I'm ready to let you guys you know that I am now blogging for Think Contra. As stoked as I am for this opportunity, it means that sometimes ATP will get the short end of the stick, so if ever you log on and nothing has changed since the last time you visited, head over to Contra and see what's good there. Just so you're forewarned, some of my posts will overlap because I feel they are useful to both of the sites' readers, but many posts will be exclusive to either/or so make sure to check both anyways :)

That being said, I want to thank you guys for the great responses since this all started only 6 months ago. Your support has encouraged me to do things I never even could have imagined and I thank you all whole-heartedly for it. I still have no idea what the ultimate goal in all of this but I'll ride it out for as long as possible.

Here is the latest collection from NYC/Japan-based street brand RockSmith. The shoot features punk/rap collective Radical Outing and is a series of stills that showcases them as they make their way to CDR Radio in Brooklyn one afternoon.

The collection features a boatload of items including tees, jackets and hats, all of which I'm definitely a fan of. Some of my favourite pieces weren't even featured in this shoot but you can still check them out on Karmaloop.

The shoot took place in Madrid's Café Maravillas, where Pelé took on Zidane in a game of metegol a.k.a foosball. Shepard Fairey "Mayday" Mural

You all know Shepard Fairey, you just may not know you know him. Mr. Fairey is most known for his famous cartoon-ish "HOPE" rendition of Barack Obama, but he's hardly a one-hit wonder. The American artist is the creator of Obey clothing, a brand whose pieces is largely based on Fairey's designs. He's also an accomplished artist.

His latest project can be seen above. It's a mural at Bowery & Houston in New York City entitiled "These Parties Disgust Me" and was created for the “May Day” show, which opens May 1st and is hosted by Deitch Projects.

The creative combo that brought you Team Canada's gear for the Vancouver Olympics, a.k.a. award-winning designer Adrian Aitcheson and Arcade Agency’s creative director Pablo Mozo, have hooked up once again to lead this iconic Canadian brand through its re-birth. For now, North Star will be available at the Hudson’s Bay Company as well as select boutiques across Canada but the plan is to eventually expand nationally.

Chairless was designed for furniture brand Vitra by Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, and unveiled recently at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.

Chairless is a simple tool for sitting – a textile strap joined into a loop, measuring 85 cm in length and 5 cm in width, which can be wrapped around the back and knees in order to stabilise the body and relieve tension, while in a seated position. Chairless is mobile. Weighing less than 85 grams, the strap can be folded into a compact size allowing it to fit easily into a pocket – the ideal sitting aid while out and about.

I think this is a brilliantly simple innovation and would probably make sitting in the park a lot more comfortable.

To understand Reigning Champ, you first need to understand CYC Designs, the Vancouver-based brand's parent company. CYC designs, headed by Craig Atkinson, is responsible for the fleece production for some of the industry's best-known brands including Supreme, Alife and their in-house brand Wings + Horn.

So it comes as no surprise that Reigning Champ is a label heavily predicated on combining cotton and fleece to create simple and clean tees and hoodies. This collection is no different, as the Canadian label continues to make waves with a strong Spring/Summer effort that features some interesting takes on classics like the orange t-shirt that looks like it could be a crewneck and the yellow crewneck with the button.

The NBA Playoffs

Today is one of my favourite days of the year: it's NBA playoff time. The festivities kick off this afternoon as the Chicago Bulls head to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers at the Q.

There are so many story lines these playoffs that I don't even know where to start nor do I think you have the patience to read them all. But I will tell you I like the Hawks, the Nuggets and the Cavs, I think Oklahoma City will prove tougher than L.A. thinks, and the Magic are ready to make up for what never came last year. 40 games in 40 nights? I'm pumped!

For a much hyped about collaboration, Comme des Garçons founder Rei Kawakubo handpicked items from Moncler's S/S 10 collection and customized them to reflect a stylistic balance of the two brands. The collection is currently for sale at a special retail space in Tokyo that will be open for exactly one year (hence the 365) and a new collaboration is set to drop in July under the same theme. If that seems mystical, it is, and I can't wait to find out more about it.

Downtown specialty jean shop Over The Rainbow has released a set of old-school Blue Jays tees as part of their "The Golden Age of Baseball" series. This is just Part 1 of the series and has been labelled the "Toronto Edition" so if this picture is any indication, some dope Expos tees are sure to follow suit.

The picture below is the closest thing I have to an existing Jays retro tee; my mom got this bad boy when the 1991 Blue Jays became the first team in history to have 4 million fans watch their games in one season. It's pretty impressive seeing as there needed to be 80 straight sell outs of 50,000 people per night. Hopefully one day the Jays can return to such glory.

The video isn't phenomenal but it's definitely solid and features a bunch of interesting concepts that play with your senses. It doesn't exactly follow a story line but the visuals do a nice job representing the emotion that Mr. Graham tries to highlight in his lyrics. The clip's directed by Anthony Mandler.

Last night, the big homey Bryan "be." Espiritu dropped the lookbook for his new collection "The Wealth Series", and it's absolutely crazy. It was shot entirely by Toronto photographer Paolo Azzaraga, but unlike the usual visual-only lookbook, this one features some absolutely brilliant insight into the concept of money and wealth by Bryan. If any of you follow him on Twitter, have him on Facebook or have read his blog, then this shouldn't come as a surprise considering how open he is with his audience, often touching on sensitive subjects.

I'd been waiting on this collection for a few months now, ever since be. previewed the "Money Runners" t-shirt that you see above (and that I plan on ordering very soon). Besides a variety of t-shirts, the Legends League New Eras are pure crack; simple yet full of meaning for those who know anything about them. adidas Originals put this dope collection together as an homage to the many tennis players and of yore who would rock adidas on the clay and hardwood, respectively. Besides the white pair, the colourways are complex enough that people will look twice but the shoes are by no means flashy. I'm not sure if these are available in Canada but if so, there are two adidas stores in Toronto that would have them.

Earlier this week, I showed you guys a bunch of photos for new very limited edition Vans kicks that feature the logos of several Major League Baseball teams. Each design was dropping 12 pairs at a time and available at premium footwear stores in the city whose logo they feature. Anyways, Vans released a bunch more, some of which they're letting loose tomorrow morning and some drop next Monday. Another dope release, even though the Blue Jays haven't received any love... This new commercial hit the airwaves last night and although ESPN disabled sharing, some badass computer nerd figured it out anyways and upload it to Youtube - cheers kind sir. Anyways, the commercial is simply a shot of Tiger Woods listening to a recording of his late father talk to him about personal responsibility. This is, of course, in conjunction with Tiger's return to golf, which is happening at exactly 1:42pm today at the Masters in Augusta, Georgia. To me, this seems pretty damn inappropriate on Nike's part. I mean I know Tiger's in a bad spot, but still... What are your thoughts on this?

Mos Dub (Mixtape)

I am normally not a fan of anything dubstep (sorry Kevin) but I am a fan of almost everything Mos Def so after spotting over on Jake Davis' site, I gave it a shot and halfway through I'm not dissapointed. The more mellow sound nicely compliments Mos' lyrics and flow and creates a groovy sound. The mixtape was produced by Max Tannone, the same dude who put together Jaydiohead. Download here.

Brand Blast: Oliberté

It's been a minute since I've done a Brand Blast but I couldn't deny giving Oliberté a shout. Oliberté got some love last week when they dropped the photoshoot for their Obido Chukka Boot (which can be seen above). I love the two-tone feel, the low-top cut and the suede or leather look, depending on what mood you're in...but that's not what makes this company cool.

Oliberté, whose motto is "This is Africa", uses materials exclusively from Africa to make all their shoes and prides themselves on the impact their making on the lives of others. Inspired by the sentiment “We don’t want another charity, we want jobs”, the Canadian company (yes, you read that correctly) hopes to be working in 10 African countries by 2015.

"The only real way to alleviate poverty on this beautiful continent is to build a middle class with fair paying jobs. And if we can build a successful company that also helps build Africa, then maybe we can inspire others companies to follow suit,” says Founder and President, Tal Dehtiar.

The company uses leather from Ethiopia, natural rubber from Liberia and ensures all those involved with the creation of each pair of their shoes is paid fairly and treated responsibly. Oliberté also works with factories to limit their carbon footprint and they "support local training and communities in every country where [they] work".

This is a brand we can all stand behind - or maybe "stand in" is more suitable. The shoes are available in a large variety of retailers across Canada and the United States, and their headquarters and main showroom is in Oakville. Check out a few more models below.

I was fortunate enough to come across an interesting article on The Consumerist website and I just have to share it.

KFC is launching a new sandwich on April 12 called the Double Down. It consists of cheese and bacon sandwiched between two pieces of fried chicken (acting as bread). That's 540 calories, 32 grams of fat, and a coronary-heart surgery. I'm sure it tastes amazing, but all I can think about is how all the Homer Simpsons of the world are going to go bonkers for this monstrosity. I wonder how long it will be before the Double Down leads to a lawsuit, "KFC made me Fat!"

Last night Stones Throw Records launched the video for Aloe Blacc's single "I Need A Dollar". For those who aren't already aware, this is the theme song for one of HBO's newest series "How To Make It In America", which wrapped up its first season last night. Since the show premiered two months ago, Mr. Blacc's career has taken on new life, and in the past few weeks he was featured in the April issue of Complex Magazine and sat down for an interview with GQ. For me, this song is the ultimate hustler's anthem and I think the video, although a bit predictable, did a nice job at showing a raw version of what was to be expected. And there's no denying that sweet outro.

J. Crew unveiled a preview of their Fall 2010 collection and I think this set will only further fuel the ressurgence that has blessed the brand over the past few seasons. This solid collection was designed by another finalist for GQ's Men's Designer of the Year, Frank Muytjens, and stays away from patterns and instead opting for combinations of solid colourways and different fabrics.

GQ's Men's Designer of the Year, Billy Reid, has released a few of his outfits for this season and I'm definitely a fan. My favourite look is the one above, not solely for the fact that the model is sporting the Jonathan jacket, although that definitely helps the cause. But I do find the clothes to be relatively simple and I'm worried that they are overpriced because of Mr. Reid's new found glory. Then again, maybe that just comes with the fame.
